THE DELIGHT OF A BEE!

I had a most unusual, pleasant experience this afternoon. A large bumblebee kept darting and hovering around my car parked on the driveway. The heat radiating from the car hood in the sun may have been one attraction for her. Too, I think she was looking for the ideal place to begin her summer brood and foraging for nectar. She came and went, so I began calling to her and talking.

As I spoke with her, I stood still while she hovered, then swoooped, then hovered again. She began coming closer and closer as I talked. Then she 'flew in place' just above my hand that rested on the car. The almost cold breeze from her fanning wings delicately kissed my skin. What a thrill!

She didn't land, but instead took off into the atmosphere once more. Several times she came quite near my face so I could look into hers as I talked. She was interested in my voice, but she was equally as interesing to watch and be close to!

Finally she took off and disappeared to begin doing her Father's business as the inimitable bee she is. What a living lesson for me, as well!

Dear, dear bee! I shall always treasure our time spent together.

God created such delightful creatures!
